Ultimate Cinnamon Rolls

Big Daddy is baking up these sweet and wonderful Cinnamon Rolls, which are smothered in a cream cheese frosting.

Instructions

Dough:

  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer, add the warm water, 1/4 cup sugar, and yeast. Whisk to combine and let sit for 10 minutes. The yeast should bloom and be foamy.
  2. Stir in the milk, 1/3 cup butter and egg. Add 1/2 the flour and mix.
  3. Add remaining flour and salt.
  4. Knead for 6 minutes. Place in greased bowl and allow to rise until double in bulk, about 1 hour.
  5. Punch down dough, and roll out into a 15x9-inch rectangle. Spread melted butter over dough.
  6. Combine 3/4 cup sugar and cinnamon together. Spread over melted butter. Roll up, jelly-roll style. Pinch seam to seal.
  7. Using a very sharp knife, slice into 8 equal pieces. Place into greased baking tray and allow to rise for 45 minutes until puffy.
  8. Bake at 350° F for 30-35 minutes.

Frosting:

  1. Cream the cream cheese and butter until creamy.  Add powered sugar and 1 tablespoon milk and mix. Add remaining milk until you get a smooth and fluffy frosting.
  2. Apply to hot rolls.
