Apple Bread

Big Daddy is baking up some Apple Bread. Big Daddy went apple picking and now needs to use them up, and one way to do it is to make some Apple Bread. It’s slightly sweet, and very delicious with chunks of Apple and a kiss of Cinnamon. You will want to make this bread!

Instructions

  1. In the bowl of a stand mixer, add the yeast, warm water, sugar, warm milk, egg yolk, vanilla, and salt and mix together. Add the flour, reserving 1/2 cup. Add the softened butter 1 tablespoon at a time and mix in. If needed, add the remaining 1/2 cup of flour.
  2. Knead the dough for 8-10 minutes. Place dough in a greased bowl and allow to rise for 1 hour, or until double in bulk.
  3. Prepare the apples by peeling them, and shopping into 1/2 inch pieces. add the sugar, cinnamon, and egg. Mix to combine.
  4. Prepare two 8x4-inch pans by greasing or spraying with cooking spray.
  5. Divide dough in half, and roll out Ito into a 10-15-inch rectangle. Scatter 1/2 the apples onto the dough, and roll up. Slice the dough into 1-inch slices. Scoop up the dough into the prepared pans.
  6. Repeat with the remaining dough and apples.
  7. Allow dough to proof for 45 minutes. Near the end of the proofing time, Preheat the oven to 350° F.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes. If the dough is getting too brown, cover with foil.
  9. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before removing the bread from the pan.
